CES 2008: Take Your TV Anywhere with Sansa TakeTV!
By Justin Taylor
Monday, Jan 07, 2008 04:16

Today I found a new toy that you just can't do without. SanDisk released & demonstrated the new Sansa TakeTV 8 GB Video Player this tool makes video content extremely portable and even provides an easy way to control the content with it's built in remote control. The TakeTV! is as easy to use as a thumb drive, but comes with built in software to play video content through any TV or display devices that has either an S-Video or composite connection. (Sorry no HD options yet).

CES 2008: Uh Oh. HD-DVD cancelled their press conference at CES 2008...
By Andrew Lock
Monday, Jan 07, 2008 04:11
The HD-DVD camp announced that they have CANCELLED their intended press conference at CES 2008. The move came after Warner Brothers Studios announced that they'll be moving EXCLUSIVELY to Blu-Ray. Probably they were paid a substantial sum of money to make the move, but it puts the HD-DVD format in serious jeopardy. I don't think it's the 'death blow' for HD-DVD but it's certainly serious.

The official press release from HD-DVD said:

""Based on the timing of the Warner Home Video announcement today, we have decided to postpone our CES 2008 press conference scheduled for Sunday, January 6th at 8:30 p.m. in the Wynn Hotel. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

We are currently discussing the potential impact of this announcement with the other HD DVD partner companies and evaluating next steps. We believe the consumer continues to benefit from HD DVD's commitment to quality and affordability - a bar that is critical for the mainstream success of any format.

We'll continue to keep you updated on new developments around HD DVD."

This is really funny.

Imagine if the hit TV show '24' had been first produced around 1994 when the internet and cellphones were still in their infancy.

Here's how the show might have looked...
